Community action agencies are often governmental agencies or non-profit organizations that are designed to do one thing or to bring about one action. Different community action agencies are designed to bring about different actions in a community. Some community action agencies are governmental agencies that are put together in order to help develop a certain area or to redevelop a certain area. Many urban renewal agencies are community action agencies. Some community action agencies are groups made up of government officials and representatives from the private sector and are put together to fight a certain problem within a community, such as a methamphetamine task force.
